Description Mike M CLA 2013-02-25 17:31:02 EST
Steps to reproduce:
1. Activate a task.
2. Open some files (some may be source files, others are "editors" containing downloaded source code that is attached to some jars within the maven classpath container).
3. Click and drag the tab of one of the editors outside the main eclipse window, so that it becomes a separate (detached) window. It does not matter what kind of editor this is.
3. Deactivate the task. The detached window will be closed.
4. Activate the task again. The detached window will not be opened again and any editors in that window will not be opened.

Eclipse version: STS 3.0

The current editor restore implementation is indeed limited to the editor area. Restoring of editors that are detached or dragged to other locations in the workbench is currently not supported. This is related to bug 166644.
