Description Jacob Robertson CLA 2003-07-09 10:33:34 EDT
In the previous version, the Run As and Debug As had "Java Application" as the
first option. Now, applet is the first option. That's annoying. Maybe in
some cases it's most often run as applet, but for me application is 100% of the
time. How hard would it be to either

1) Allow this to be customized (from the Run.. wizard for example)
or
2) Do like Windows does with hiding menu items that aren't ever used

This is related to Bug 41448, which requests that the entries be sorted
alphabetically.

I'd recommend adding a way to remove items from the list - a checkbox table in
the preferences.

This is also related to context sensitive launching, which would be a better
solution to the problem. I.e. a context/run menu that infers what type of
launch configurations are applicable to the selection/active editor.

I'm going to mark this as a duplicagte. Context menu launching and activity
filtering are intended to solve this problem. See bug 36495 for activity
filtering, and bug 18338 for context menu launching.
