UMLX has been marked for termination. As part of the review, it was indicated that "the interesting parts will be subsumed by the OCL project." What code needs to be moved to OCL? UMLX is in CVS. We should migrate any code that we move to Git. Will the migrated code be merged into the existing Git repository, or will a new one be created?
Significant parts of UMLX have contributed to OCL and QVTd projects. The residue will probably be redeveloped exploiting Papyrus tooling. It's a pain bouncing the repos around, but I'm not sure that yet another temporary repo provides any real assistance to historical researchers, so let it go to archive.
Sorry Ed, I'm not following at 100% Are you saying that you've already taken everything that you want/need from UMLX and that we should just move forward with archiving the project's repository?
Yes. Just archive away. It would be nice if the 'archive' was hidden on website URLs, since there are a number of references to UMLX documents in academic papers.
I've deactivated the project committers and have marked the project as inactive. Archival steps: Archive CVS /cvsroot/modeling/org.eclipse.gmt/org.eclipse.gmt.umlx/ Archive downloads downloads/modeling/gmt/umlx/ Archive Bugzilla GMT/UMLX Archive IPZilla No CQs. Remove UMLX from GMT website (GMT project committers will have to do this).
Done. The archive can be found here: http://archive.eclipse.org/modeling/OLD/umlx.tgz -M.
I think that we're done here.
