Description Bill Brown CLA 2003-06-20 17:11:23 EDT
FEATURE REQUEST: allow you (the developer) to open a .java file or xml file
from the command line or GUI without having to create a new project.

My gripe is that I have a bunch of .java files that I do not want associated
with a project because they will not be used in the future, but I still need to
examine the code. Currently eclipse does not allow you to just open a java or
xml file for viewing without creating a project. It would also be nice to
associate a .java file in windows or linux with eclipse and be able to double
click on it and have it editable in eclipse.

That would make eclipse more cool.
Bill Brown.

Linked resources is the way to go. Maybe some automation of this process could
be provided to ease user experience.

JDT/Core would provide basic support for .java files outside the classpath of a
non-java project (already functional but needs a project around).
