Description Chris Lenfest CLA 2012-09-25 14:14:35 EDT
If I drag a open file tab to create a new window and then that new window has focus, when I try to open a new resource it should open in that new window, not the default one.
Comment 1 Eric Moffatt CLA 2012-09-26 11:23:27 EDT
This sounds OK to me...be forewarned that those editors will *not* be available if you switch perspectives though...
Comment 2 Eric Moffatt CLA 2012-10-04 11:18:13 EDT
Another thing that will happen is that using the editor toolbar in the main window may encounter difficulties in that it activates the main window which *could* also activate an editor in that window, meaning that the tool's action will run against the incorrect editor. If you're happy to live with a combination of the context menu and key bindings you should be OK.

This is unlikely to be fixed since we've known about it for quite a while but have been unable to find a solution.
Comment 3 Chris Lenfest CLA 2012-10-04 12:08:58 EDT
Yup, I would expect it to work with key bindings, but if doesn't work with the mouse I can live with it.
Comment 4 Mauro Molinari CLA 2014-08-08 10:10:20 EDT
This is still valid in Eclipse Luna I20140606-1215.
I think comment #2 by Eric refers to bug #323706.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got
resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some
reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it.
The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you
still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is
(for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
