Description John Arthorne CLA 2012-05-07 14:25:36 EDT
The N&N needs updating for 4.2:

- four part N&N that appears in our doc plugins
- combined N&N for download page

Some changes released but this is ongoing.
Comment 2 John Arthorne CLA 2012-06-05 13:46:23 EDT
The document appearing in the build is nearly final. Last step will be assembling version that appears on download page.

Working draft:

I copied your working copy to our "hidden" version of the release download page

essentially renaming to index.html and putting under 'news' directory.

Just in case you wanted to see what it looked like "in context":

http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.2-201206081400/

I did NOT copy the directory 'eclipse-news_files/' which, when I "save as" from browser, contained 'default_style.json'. I am not sure if that's needed or not, but if is, assume it'd be relative, and under the "news" directory also.

Will do same thing for 3.8 page once you are done.
Comment 5 John Arthorne CLA 2012-06-21 16:50:23 EDT
I copied the latest news into both download pages. The best way is to use wget rather than Save As in the browser, which messes with link and directory names on the page.

(very) minor point ... I notice you link directly to eclipse3x.php page,

from
http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/R-4.2-201206081400/news/
intro paragraph when referring to legacy version.

I think best to link to HTML version of that file. (Easier on file system so PHP doesn't have to read the directories as much).
Comment 7 David Williams CLA 2012-06-21 18:30:01 EDT
On the 3.8 page, there is a broken link.

The link for "plugin development" is missing a 'e'
