Description Krum Tsvetkov CLA 2012-04-30 10:19:26 EDT
The target date of the simultaneous release is approaching. I'm opening this ticket to track the activities related to the release.

Here some TODOs:
* update copyright headers in about / feature / product files
* finalize the entries on for the sim.rel. project requirements page
* prepare review docs
* update documentation where necessary
* update new and noteworthy
* include documentation to the common release docs

I'll open separate tickets for the subtasks where appropriate.

Should we try to build the RCP with Eclipse 3.8 or 4.2 ?
Comment 2 Krum Tsvetkov CLA 2012-05-04 04:05:36 EDT
I've made already many attempts to build with 4.2 but never succeeded.
I think with 4.2 also the list of supported OS platforms is different (at least I could find fewer packages to download).

I don't know about 3.8. Haven't try so far.

Currently the build is not using any target platform. We just specify a list of repositories - indigo and dtfj - and this is all.

If we would like to build for 3.8 specifically or also for 4.2 I think we have to introduce the target platform again. And in this area there were some changes with tycho, so we will need to spend some time on it.

Until now we always used the release from the previous year for our RCPs. I don't claim this is the best approach, but we also didn't get any complaints about it :-)

I wrote a lot of words already, but what I wanted to say shortly is:
- I would like to use one of the latest (and tried already)
- It will require some effort
- I would prefer to do first the other (must-do) things
- If there is time at the end, we could experiment with the build

Does this sound reasonable?

1.2.0 is now released and available for download.
