I downloaded the integration build for Eclipse42 from 20120417 and here the ContentAssist is not visible, it seems to be rendered of screen.

Screenshot attached, see right down corner.

I understand that this is properly a Eclipse 4 bug, please move to the platform team if that is correct.

This works for me on Windows 7.

I'm using Ubuntu, maybe Paul could verify (I think he is also using Ubuntu).

Lars, can you check the following:
1. anything in .log?
2. does it also happen in a new workspace?
3. does Ctrl+1 work?
Comment 4 Arun Thondapu CLA 2012-04-18 04:28:42 EDT
Its working for me on Ubuntu 11.04 (32-bit) with the above Eclipse 4.2 integration build.

The popup in the lower right corner is not the content assist popup, but the key binding conflict popup. That should have been fixed with bug 374942.

Right, this got fixed last week already. So - either Lars does not have a the indicated build, or he has some other issue.

Lars, if you invoke content assist via menu, does it work?

Paul, please note that Lars said he's using Eclipse42 from 20120417. If that's true then we wither need to reopen this bug or bug 374942.

I had this issue with a fresh downloaded Eclipse, after I restarted it, I'm unable to reproduce this anymore. Now Content Assists works fine for me, sorry for the confusion.
Comment 11 Paul Webster CLA 2012-04-18 08:42:09 EDT
I just downloaded I20120417-1000 fresh and I can't reproduce it (on RHEL6.2)

Lars, it might have been a left-over from a previous bad build, that 0417 has the fix for (and applied it on the restart).
