There are 5 usages in total each of them covered by cairo alternative path. The function is removed from GTK 3.

I think you need to remove the casts as well (i.e. GdkGC *) otherwise it still will not compile in GTK 3 because GdkGC is not defined.

Ah, you're right - my mistake with the gtk2/gtk3 jumps. I'll rebase the other patches too.
