We have been waiting since a long time for this bugfix (5.5 years) and it's still in status NEW. Our client, a bank, is pushing for this issue to be fixed. Because of this bug their processes are more error prone.
This is the same issue as reported in bug 519103.

Instead of waiting, your client or may be you could try to contribute to the open source and fix this issue. See https://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/How_to_Contribute. There are also few companies providing commercial support for Eclipse, see https://marketplace.eclipse.org/category/markets/long-term-support.
