In Chrome you can select multiple tabs by the usual press Ctrl or Shift while clicking mechanism. Once multiple tabs are selected you can move them to a new browser window.

Similar functionality might be handy in Eclipse especially in case of Editor tabs, as one might want to detach a bunch of editors in one go.

I know this is not exactly what you're asking for, but in 3.8 and in 4.2, you can already grab a whole part stack and detach or move all parts together:
The trick is to grab the empty space on the right of the last tab.

You cannot do this for editor tabs, right ?

In 4.2, there seems to be a concept of "primary" editor area. I indeed cannot move that tab group. But I can put several editors into a separate part stack and then move that group together.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

If the bug is still relevant, please remove the "stalebug" whiteboard tag.
