Description Fabian Steeg CLA 2012-01-30 16:15:31 EST
I'm not sure what I've done, but somehow I've reset my forums account - I used to login with my original bugzilla login 'steeg@netcologne.de' (which is now my secondary address). This didn't work, so I tried it with my new address 'fsteeg@gmail.com' (my current primary address in the portal), which worked, but the account was created today: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/u/135511/ I don't think I actually registered with the new address, but I might have.

I seem to have the same issue in the wiki - I can only log in with fsteeg@gmail.com, but that seems to be a completely different account (no contributions history, empty user page). I suspect I'd have the same issue here on bugzilla (where I'm still logged in as steeg@netcologne.de on this machine). I'm a bit worried, it would be a pity to lose all history on these accounts.

I've compressed your accounts into a single account under 'fsteeg@gmail.com'. You may want to reset your password(or I can generate one for you) to make sure all the auth tokens are up to date.

Thanks! I did a password reset. Looks good for Bugzilla.

On the wiki, it still seems to be a different account.

On the forums, I can't login: Chrome says "HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error)" and Safari just shows me a blank page. On the first attempt I get redirected to https://dev.eclipse.org/site_login and get the error/empty page from there, later directly from the login link on the forums page.

On the Marketplace, it's like on the wiki: the account seems to be new, I can't update the products that I created with my original account.

I've deleted references to the "new" account @gmail.com and renamed the old @netcologne ones to use the gmail reference. I've done forums, Wiki and Marketplace. Please give it a try.

Thanks - and sorry for the hassle. The root was probably that I swapped my primary and secondary adress in the portal, right? Shouldn't have done that...

The Marketplace account looks good now.

On the Wiki, links at the bottom of pages (links with my name, on pages I edited) now link to the User:Fsteeg.gmail.com page, but that is empty (though I could probably just move User:Steeg.netcologne.de to User:Fsteeg.gmail.com, correct?). Also, the Fsteeg.gmail.com user has no contribution history.

The forums account now has my original posts in the history, but posts from the intermediate account seem to have lost their user, e.g.:

http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/281618/786811/#msg_786811

I don't think there were many of these, though.

I don't know if there's anything left to do here. If some messages are attributed to the wrong owner, please list the messages and we'll hack the backend.
Comment 7 Fabian Steeg CLA 2014-09-05 03:55:53 EDT
Seems like the message that I linked to now actually disappeared...

Do you mean the thread from comment 5? I can go look. The messages are probably still there, but not attached to a user. I'll see what I can do.

Yes from comment #5, but it's not important, probably not worth the hassle :-)
Comment 10 Denis Roy CLA 2014-09-05 10:38:13 EDT
Hmmm, the database only contains the three messages shown on the page. I guess the others are lost. Sorry.

No problem, like I said, not so important. Except if it would help to make the case for replacing the current forums with something else. In that case, I'm outraged! ;-)
