I just tried updating my information at: https://dev.eclipse.org/site_login/myaccount.php which failed -- I hadn't provided a new password, since I didn't want to change my password. The change worked once I provided a "new" password (the same as my old password).
Brian, what do we need to do here?
I don't recall that the New Password fields were marked as required previously. But I shouldn't have to provide a new password if I'm just trying to change my email address or name.
Ah, I see.. That makes sense.

I disagree I think we should require the password to confirm that you are actually the owner of the account. Especially if you are changing your e-mail.
The problem is that the form has the following fields as mandatory: - Current password - New Password - New Password (again) So if you don't want to change your password, you have to introduce it 3 times in order to change only your name/email.

Oh ok... I understand the issue now. I think that we should always confirm your current password but the second New password field should only be mandatory if the first new password field is set otherwise they should be ignored.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
I confirm the problem is still present.
I'm due to invest some time in the site login. I'll address this as well.

I am currently working on an update to site_login https://dev.eclipse.org/site_login_new/ The new site_login only requires the current password to update your account settings.
