At the moment to open the new commit page from the log view, you have to open the tray and then click on the commit name there. I would like to get rid of the tray for .4 and make the commit name in the log a link to the new commit page.

This is fixed now. Commit names on the git log page and the status page mini-logs are links to the new commit page. Moreover when you hover on a commit name, you'll see a nice tooltip showing commit details.
