I think we could have an option to specify what the initial state of the inline compare view should be: collapsed or expanded. The reason is that when I have many such widgets on a page (see new git-commit.html) I would like to expand just the first one and leave the rest collapsed when the page is shown. Xhr calls for diffs and content would be made on widget open, so when it is added collapsed to the page no call for content would be made.
