Also, it should be noted that this began to happen after i installed the Adobe AIR SDK for iOS development into Flash Builder 4.6 Eclipse plug in.

May want to take this up with Adobe.

At title of only build ID, M20110909-1335, makes it hard to scan a list of bugs and know what it's about (I have to click and read it each time I see it in my query lists :) so I've changed to something more descriptive. Feel free to correct if I've misunderstood.

I have also posted about this in the Adobe Forums. Thanks for editing the title David, sorry it wasn't descriptive before.

This is the procedure I used to install AIR for Apple IOS support after I received an error message saying it wasn't installed.

Can you try with eclipse 3.8/4.2 and see if this still happens?
I'm not sure what is causing the crash, but we fixed a similar FileDialog bug in 3.8.

Solaris is no longer a supported platform.
