As a build&release engineer, I want to provide tar.gz product archives for linux and maxosx operating systems and zip for windows.

Can you provide a basic example to achieve this ? i tried 0.14.0-SNAPSHOT and did not see any difference ( all products are zipped )

Default behaviour did not change, you need to explicitly enable tar.gz packaging for linux and macosx using the following tycho-p2-director-plugin configuration

        <configuration>
          <formats>
            <linux>tar.gz</linux>
            <macosx>tar.gz</macosx>
          </formats>
        </configuration>


You can find complete working example project as part of Tycho IT suite [1]

I have not decided yet if I want to change the default to produce tar.gz for linux and osx, feel free to bring this up at tycho-users if you feel strong enough about this.
