When I've spent the time to set up a bunch of splits to see many files at once, and then I switch contexts and back, the splits are cleared.  At minimum, Mylyn should leave the splits intact, but I expect this is a limitation of the Java editor, that you can't split a window without any files open.

Given that presumed limitation, I'd like to see you rectify this bug by preserving and restoring the split layout upon context switch.
