dialog with wrong clipping towards the bottom

I have a specific dialog that fails to display relevant information
on one specific platform:
Kubuntu 11.10
  - works OK with 11.04
Application Appearance : GTK+ Appearance : Widget style: oxygen-gtk
  - works OK with Raleigh (plain ugly) and QtCurve (not installed by default)

I'm attaching the broken version where the dialog content is clipped
at the bottom, making a relevant checkbox invisible.
(If you blindly navigate to the checkbox using tab it still works).

Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about unreliable themes engines/themes. Oxygen-gtk is notorious for causing these sorts of problems, as GTK3 has deprecated theme engines all together.
