Description Michael Jastram CLA 2011-12-21 06:42:26 EST
When a cell is edited, the row height stays unchanged during the edit session. If plenty of text is added, only part of the text is visible. It would be nice if the row height would adjust itself dynamically while editing.

Migrated from http://dev.pror.org/ticket/42

Not even when a cell is edited, am I right?
There is no adjustment of a rows height after leaving the cell; I can't even figure out how to this manually. I'm using the linewrap presentation.
IMHO this should be called an error.

After finishing the editing process, the row height should adjust.

During the editing process, there is no linewrap

If the LineWrap Presentation is enabled, then linewrap should be present, even during editing.

However, due to a bug in the core, the presentation is lost after closing and reopening the file.

@Kay: Does this represent what you observe?

All this should be addressed as soon as #368037 and #367296 are addressed. Please be patient. Are you interested in helping with the implementation?

I was quite a bit confused about linewrapping.
If no linewrap presentation (LP) is used, text is wrapped automatically at the cells right border. Also the properties view shows me the complete text.
But after switching to a LP for the String-Datatype this automatic wrapping no longer happens, neither in the cell, nor in the properties view.
It's annoying to edit the content now until - and now everything comes to a good end - you find out, that you have to insert the wrapping manually with SHIFT+ENTER.
So you are right: after finishing the editing process, the row height adjusts an you are back to the original problem...

No, the LP is not lost after closing and reopening.
I'm testing the master branch from http://git.eclipse.org/gitroot/rmf/org.eclipse.rmf.git

No :-)

> Are you interested in helping with the implementation?
YES. I'd like to use the tool in my next RE-Project. I could come up with some ideas...

Great! I think this is a discussion that we should discuss outside Bugzilla. I'll send you an email.

Added a listener to increase the editor size as needed.
