no crash in my FF9/Win7 64. Perhaps any FF add-ons messing things up?
Comment 3 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-21 02:09:40 EST
Could you try to start the web browser (FF9) with the launch config? Close FF9. And let the application launch config to start the FF9.
Comment 4 Tim Buschtoens CLA 2011-12-21 02:26:33 EST
Still no crash.
Comment 5 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-21 02:32:55 EST
With all my add-ons disabled it crashes for me (and ask to submit a crash report to Mozilla) all the time on startup - FF9/Win7 64 too.
Comment 6 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-21 02:38:22 EST
If the browser is opened manually first, the crash does not occur.
Comment 7 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-21 02:48:45 EST
The strange thing is that only the attached demo crashes. Tested Workbench Demo, Controls Demo, Examples Demo, RMS... all are working fine. Could be something in the forms widgets ??!!
Comment 8 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-21 05:32:26 EST
Probably this is not a RAP issue, but FF (with specific video controller/driver, Intel GMA 4500MHD in my case). Disable the hardware acceleration in FF solves the problem. Will look at the FF bugs for related issues.
Comment 9 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2011-12-22 06:28:27 EST
The crash is still reproducible for me with Firefox 9.0.1.
Comment 10 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2012-01-31 03:37:57 EST
Firefox 10.0 final crashes too.
Comment 11 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2012-02-01 04:54:57 EST
According to mozilla knowledge base (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_crashes#Video_drivers) there is a known problems with certain graphics drivers (without mentioning anything specific for my current Intel GMA 4500MHD driver 8.15.10.2202, which is in the supported graphics drivers list https://wiki.mozilla.org/Blocklisting/Blocked_Graphics_Drivers#Intel_cards).
As I can't reproduce it in other environments then mine (tested in a several other PC/Notebooks) and its working fine with hardware acceleration disabled, I will close this bug as NOT_ECLIPSE.
Comment 12 Ivan Furnadjiev CLA 2012-02-02 17:16:10 EST
Today I found which line in RAP code cause the crash. It is GC.js#_addCanvasToDOM -> line 155 -> controlElement.appendChild( this._canvas );
I don't know if we could find a workaround (fix) in our code.
