I noticed the scroll performance of the text editor is very bad if "show whitespace characters" option is turned on.

And if "show line numbers" is turned on, the performance is affected a little, but not that much.

All of the above issues only happened on Mac. Windows is okay.
My operating system is Mac OS X Lion and I have a Mac book air 2011 hardware.
