Currently the Extdoc RCP is accessing the database directly. To be able to release Extdoc to the wild a webservice is required securing that only authorized access to the database is done.

A first draft of a (slim) webservice can be found in http://goo.gl/MGxPS. It's currently missing methods for any community feature (user ratings, comments etc.) This interface is in use since 0.5.

It looks like that we don't need this feature anymore. At least not from the current point of view. Closing this one.
