Description Stephan Herrmann CLA 2011-12-09 13:08:14 EST
In 3.x Ctrl-E would be equivalent to clicking the ">> 42" button
popping up a list from which to select an open editor.

In 4.x I see this split into two separate features each having
its specific usability issues:

Ctrl-E gives a list that can run over the screen boarders.
As one effect of this the field for typing a name prefix is not
visible and when reducing the list to only a few entries none
of them are visible => I can't use this strategy for selection.

Clicking the >> button gives a menu-like list, which is truncated,
unordered and doesn't respond to any keys. I don't know how I can
use this to efficiently find an editor in a long list.

Only Ctrl-Shift-E works to satisfaction in these regards.

I should mention I'm on Kubuntu 11.04.

Verified with I20120123-2200 on Windows 7 that the shell is now bounded within the monitor's size.
