Build Identifier: 20110218-0911 Exiting eclipse through the x button seems to close cleanly, but both the eclipse and javaw process remain running afterwards. This is perhaps related to bug #241773 or bug #247705 or bug #184575 On the next launch (either after manually killing or leaving the processes) eclipse will hang when trying to switch to the debug perspective. Sometimes cleaning or just waiting a long time will correct the issue. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open eclipse 2.Close eclipse 3.Open eclipse 4.Switch to debug perspective

It seems like the Android plug-in is involved here. If you uninstall the plug-in, do you have any problems?
