When switching between branches or tags using egit, there's files in the project automatically update, but often results in errors in the workspace which state that the project configuration is out of sync.

It would make things simpler of the m2e-egit connector (I imagine that it's its job) to run the Update Project Configuration command automatically when a switch is made.

m2e/egit is not part of any eclipse project, the sources are at github [1] but issues and comments appear to be disabled for the repository. I am not sure if eclipse and/or egit actually provide api to implement what you want.
