We need to add an option to let user show all results. This will be specially helpful when user wants to do replace all. When the first page is loaded, the page title already tells the total result number. So the user has the flexibility to show all first because the preview of replace will be based on the cached result. Of course user still have options not to show all but they have to realize that the replace action is based on the current page.
I'm a bit worried about a "show all". What if there are 10,000 matches? Will our page scale?
One idea... I have seen some search UI's that have multiple options... for example "Show 20, Show 50, Show 100", but at least there is still some limit.

This is better. We do not really want to let users decide the page size by typing in a number but giving them a collection makes sense to me. Again, this collection is not a user preference. If user types a new keyword in the search box and start from there, the page size will be defaulted to 40. But scoping up/down and navigating to next/prev pages will use the selected page size.
As our default page size is 40, we may want the collection to be something like {40,60,80,100,200}.
We can think about it together with bug 369816, using the completion UI.
