Description Susan McCourt CLA 2011-12-06 14:01:30 EST
Every now and then I get in a state on a self-hosted site where the auth plugin times out repeatedly. Usually this happens when the browser is slowing way down, tons of memory.

The problem is that the UI never tells me this, I have to go to the console...

Do you get information for any other page?
When I went to code I saw getting the user assumes that if we have an error we are not authenticated and doesn't report an error at all. This is valid for every page. I suppose not a good patten and needs to be changed.

As I recall, it seems all pages are "broken"...don't load, etc. And often I go to the plugins page to see if a plugin is broken. I wish I could remember more detail than that, but I think your observation sounds right. The various pages just don't work.

I haven't seen this for quite some time. If anyone bumps into this problem please reopen.
