Description Omry Yadan CLA 2003-04-16 04:59:27 EDT
one of the most useful features of WinCVS is the ability to view the
branches and tags on a specific file as a tree (graph).
It will be great to have something similar in Eclipse.

Comment 5 Adam Kiezun CLA 2003-04-16 05:20:25 EDT
cvs integration is part of platform
Comment 6 Jean-Michel Lemieux CLA 2003-04-16 07:21:13 EDT
Why? I would be curious to understand what you can do differently in the graph
view versus the CVS history view in Eclipse?
Comment 7 Omry Yadan CLA 2003-04-19 04:05:32 EDT
it helps to understand that you did the right thing.
for example, if you tag a branch, a simple list will not help to understand if
you did it properly.

28091, 23319, 36556 are just the same enhancement requests
Comment 9 Patrick Martin CLA 2003-08-29 04:38:12 EDT
You might want to have a look at the following plugin:
http://versiontree.sourceforge.net/
Comment 10 Guido CLA 2003-08-29 12:34:43 EDT
I've tried it and it is just what i was looking for.
Could it be included in the 'core' eclipse funcionality?
Comment 11 Michael Valenta CLA 2003-09-02 09:42:12 EDT
The code is question could be included in the "core" under 2 conditions:

1) The author contributed it to Eclipse under the appropriate license.
2) The code does not have any dependencies outside of th "core" Eclipse.

Only the author can fulfill part 1 but I suspect that the tool uses GEF which
is not in the core Eclipse so the tool could not be part of the platform
anyway.

Check out the VersionTree Eclipse Plugin:
http://versiontree.sourceforge.net/

It does an even better job than WinCVS at visualizing branching.
