When interpreting target files, Tycho does not take the selection on the Content tab of the target editor into account. In case the selection is not the default, there should be a warning in the build log. Supporting the selection on the Content tab is out of scope for this bug report. The use case of filtering content from the overall target platform is also covered by bug 356579.
"Supporting the selection on the Content tab is out of scope for this bug report" I understand it is not the scope of this bug to fix this, but are there any plan to have filtering throught target content tab selection ? (Even with 0.14 target platform filtering, having it supported, could avoid to define filters twice, in target file and pom file).
Do you really manage to work with the content tab selection? I only tried it once, and the editor got totally out of step when I changed something else in the target platform... If you still think this would be useful feature, feel free to open a new enhancement request. I don't think that this will be implemented by the current Tycho committers though.
Yes I am using content tab selection, and I guess I am not the only one as there is a note about this in http://wiki.eclipse.org/Tycho/Target_Platform And even there is now a workaround I am sill thinking it would be useful. I have created 373776 enhancement Thanks.
There is now [1] a warning, if someone uses a target file and has de-selected some bundles on the Content tab of the Target Editor: [WARNING] De-selecting bundles in a target definition file is not supported. See http://wiki.eclipse.org/Tycho_Messages_Explained#Target_File_Include_Bundles for details.
