Since the SearchField shell is trying to emulate a drop down, it should not allow resizing from the top in either the up or down direction.

I suppose the same argument could be made for the left edge as well ... Although I would be inclined to keep allowing this.

But certainly dragging the top of the shell over the SearchField itself destroys the illusion of it being a drop down.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.
