Build Identifier: 20110916-0149

I installed opensuse 12 on a new dell m6600
since then ecplise crashes, no productive work possible.
I cannot tell if it's a broken installation or a bug in eclipse - used to run stable with previous laptop running suse11.4
it only happens for some packages - but if it does it is 100% reproducible
both with jdk 1.6 and 1.7

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start eclipse
2.open in project "src", then package "ext.xxx"
3.eclipse immediately crashes,

Probably a duplicate of bug 320487.

checked the mentioned duplicate bug - followed it's lin k to the opensuse bug.
setting the environment variable MALLOC_CHECK_ = 1 fixes the crashing.

imho this cures the symptom, likely not the real cause.

cheers, martin
