Build Identifier: I20110613-1736 to find that you should use a tool 'Sleak' to find resource leaks: http://www.eclipse.org/swt/tools.php install it as described in instruction. here is a shorter howto: http://loracular.blogspot.com/2011/11/serach-reasource-leaks-in-eclipse.html your workspace should not be empty, in case of empty workspace or if workspace contains a clean project without warnings and not under SVN - you can not reproduce the Image leak. i.e. the project should have decorated icons - it should be under SVN or should have at least one warning. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open "Sleak" view - click on "Snap" button, remember number of allocated Images 2. open New File wizard 3. close New File wizard 4. in "Sleak" view - click on "Snap" button, remember number of allocated Images 5. open New File wizard 6. close New File wizard 7. in "Sleak" view - click on "Snap" button, remember number of allocated Images take a look at difference - every time you'll get several new Image leaks.
this leak cause Eclipse stable work, so I want to mark this issue as "critical"...
I cannot reproduce this problem.
I've check Eclipse 3.7.1 (Build Identifier: M20110909-1335) and the bug is not reproducible cause starting from version 3.7.1 you stop use decorated images in NewFileWizard tree. in Eclipse 3.7.0 (Build Identifier: I20110613-1736) - the bug exist. imo, possible to close the issue, cause it was fixed in Eclipse 3.7.1
I cannot reproduce this either using http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops/I20111129-1024/index.php
