This is a enhancement from bug 360918:

The function isIESpecialWidget appears to be hard coded for Box widgets and
Dojo widgets.  This probably will not work for users who are writing their own
widgets and do not have access to this code.  We may need to add something to
the VEWidget annotation to resolve this issue in the future.
