My take on this is that adding a bookmark for particular line in a source file is brittle as file locations change frequently when editing content. For that reason the context model is based on logical model elements rather than absolute locations. I would recommend using a TODO or FIXME marker in conjunction with landmarking the corresponding Java method to highlight a specific line in a context. Alternatively, code review tools such as Gerrit are a great way to capture a conversation around file content.

For these reasons I am inclined to mark this bug as wontfix as it is not likely that we would support this within Mylyn. That said, I am happy to support any extensibility required to make this possible through third party extensions (see bug 358554).

Hi,

I would like to have this feature as well. It would be very helpful, making the code readability more programmer-friendly, and would be a nice feature for code maintenance as well. A nice feature to share with team-mates.

Regards,
Marco

Hi,

we realy need this feature. TODO and FIXME are not just part of the Sourcecode! Actually its part of the CSS-Files and HTML-Files.
