Single-clicking an item in a dialog must not start an operation. The EGit dialog where one selects e.g. tags or branches currently does this.

To proof my point: use e.g. 'Open Resource' or 'Open Type' in single-click mode: it won't open the selected item unless you use double-click or click 'OK'.
