Created attachment 207065 [details] Screen shot Import org.eclipse.edt.rui.dojo.samples_0.7.0. Open GraphSample in dojo.samples. The portals never display. Screen shot attached. This has worked in other builds. I'm on 201111150901.
Hi Brenda, I tried this, it works fine in my env. the graph needs more time to display. Could you try: 1) other browsers, such as XULRunner or WebKit 2) try the Preview tab. Thanks.
RBD XULRunner: instantaneous RBD IE: 12 seconds EDT Mozilla Design: Nothing after 75 seconds. Clicked Preview. EDT Mozilla Preview: Nothing after 2 minutes. Clicked Show in external browser. EDT Firefox external browser: 12 seconds EDT IE Design: Nothing after 2 minutes. Clicked Preview. EDT IE Preview: Nothing after 3 minutes. Clicked Show in external browser. EDT IE external browser: 20 seconds
This is weird. I tried this on my laptop and the graphs displayed. They still don't display on my desktop. The only difference between my laptop and desktop is that I followed the steps to config XULRunner (362576) on my desktop. I had put this line in my eclipse.ini: -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=C:\XULRunner\xulrunner-1.9.1.19.en-US.win32\xulrunner So I removed the inserted line from my eclipse.ini, restarted the product, and the graphs displayed in IE. I get an error when I try Mozilla since it's not configured without the change to my ini. I put the line back in my ini, restarted the product, and the graphs don't display using IE or Mozilla.
I talked with Jing about this. Neither of us is sure which browser is being used when "Use default rendering engine" is selected. If her guess is right, then my default is Firefox when I've changed my ini. If that's the case, then I only have this problem using Firefox. I was assuming IE was always my default.
The default browser rules are: * If Eclipse 3.7, and Safari is installed, use WebKit * If not Eclipse 3.7, or if WebKit is not installed, attempt to use XULRunner if it has been configured correctly * If XULRunner has not been configured, and on Windows, use IE
OK, we're getting close. It looks like the problem is with XULRunner 1.9 and Eclipse 3.6. When I installed XULRunner 3,6, the graphs display.
Hi Brenda, Thanks a lot for digging out the root cause, I'm going to resolve this bug, because I don't think we can do anything with it in EDT. Please reopen it if you have any other concerns. Thanks a lot.
