The Git Staging view should open an editor (working tree version) when files are dragged from the view and dropped into the editor area. This is standard platform behavior and works from Package Explorer, Navigator, Synchronize view, etc.

Fixed with commit 46ec49d709a2922c491a271852fe5a8394e813c5
