Description jukefox CLA 2011-11-12 13:43:34 EST
Build Identifier: M20110909-1335

The EGF integration has a bug: The feature does not disappear from the discovery view when it has been installed.
I think it is due to a feature ID change. I think the new one to chack for should be "org.eclipse.egf" instead of "org.eclipse.emf.egf".

Who has to care about these changes? Obviously no one tested it with the Indigo-release.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the discover dialog.
2. Install EG from the dialog.
3. After install restart.
4. Return to the dialog and notice that the entry for EG is still there.

EG stands for EGF, of course. Sorry. Is there no chance to reedit one's descriptions?
Comment 2 Cedric Brun CLA 2011-11-14 05:12:22 EST
The EGF team is supposed to test this (adding in CC to let them know)

Thanks for your feedback, I did the change and it seemed to work.

Hi,

As mentionned in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=329762#c4
, I think the feature to install is "org.eclipse.egf.sdk" for helios, indigo and juno.
The update sites to use are :
http://download.eclipse.org/egf/updates/helios/official
http://download.eclipse.org/egf/updates/indigo/official
http://download.eclipse.org/egf/updates/juno/official

Thanks a lot,

Matthieu

Hi Cédric,

Do you confirm the addresses below for EGF in Amalgam ?
Thanks,

Benoît
Comment 5 Cedric Brun CLA 2012-02-13 08:16:50 EST
I confirm that's what being used by the modeling discovery.

I added a filter so that if this feature is already installed it should not be visible. Please have a try and tell me if it works as expected.

Hi Cédric,

I started from a plain Eclipse Modeling platform. We can notice two points:
- The "Eclipse Modeling Components Discovery" list is sometimes cut off
- EGF is not in the list !

Thank you,

Benoît

What do you mean by "cut off" ? What is your platform (win7, vista, a flavor of linux ?)

Using the Juno M5 modeling package I can see EGF in the "runtime and tools" section and launch the installation.

Hi Cédric,

Platform = Windows NT
I forgot to mention that I tested with the last Indigo/SR2 modeling platform.

I can't reproduce with the last Indigo/SR2 modeling platform neither. EGF is here. Are you sure you did not install EGF by another mean before opening the discovery view?

Looks OK. Thank you,

Benoît
