We need more information when global search is done.
1.We need to tell user how many files are hit and how many are displayed now.
In the page title above the bread crumb, for instance, we should say some thing like :
Search result(file 1 - 30 of 109) for text*view on:  

2.We should also report the status while requesting server for search hand meta data. Some thing like :
Searching...
