Description Mihai Sucan CLA 2011-11-03 09:39:47 EDT
(cross post from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=699130 )

STR:

1. Use a Firefox Nightly build, start Scratchpad (Web developer tools menu).
2. Copy some text.
3. Edit > Paste.
4. Edit > Paste again.

Expected result: text is pasted again.

Actual result: the Paste menu item is disabled in step 4, you can't paste.

This is caused by confusion with the focused element. State is somehow broken because there's no contentEditable element focused after paste.

The fix is trivial, will submit a patch ASAP.

Not submitting a patch yet, this might be a problem in Scratchpad.

I have submitted a proposed Scratchpad fix, but I will let the Firefox devtools reviewer decide if this bug needs to be fixed in Scratchpad or in Orion.

(see the linked bug comments for details)

We decided it's better to fix this bug within the Firefox Scratchpad tool. Fix just landed in our repos. (see the Mozilla bug mentioned above)
