Description Bill Norman CLA 2011-11-02 11:57:48 EDT
Attempting to step through server code in a debug session. When I execute step I see the following error:

An internal error occurred during: "JDI Event Dispatch". com.springsource.sts.groovy.debug.core.GroovyDebugProvider.isAlwaysInteretingLaunch()Z

Stepping through this code worked fine late last week so I assume some recent automatic product update has affected this.

I assume that you are using STS right now. There is a mismatch between the AJDT version you are using and the Grails tooling that you are using. Please upgrade to the latest snapshot of AJDT from this update site:

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/ajdt/37/dev/update

and update to the latest release (or later) of Grails tooling from the dashboard.

I was able to update the latest snapshot of AJDT. But when I attempt to update my Springsource files I see the following error:

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.
Software being installed: SpringSource Tool Suite (required) 2.8.0.201110171000-RELEASE (com.springsource.sts.feature.group 2.8.0.201110171000-RELEASE)

Do you have any suggestions on how I can overcome this issue?

    Thanks.

Not sure if you saw my earlier response because I see the bug has been closed. I have reopened it because I have an issue with the 2nd part of the suggested fix. I receive this message when I attempt to update Grails tooling from STS:

Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency. Software being installed: SpringSource Tool Suite Grails Support 2.8.0.201110171000-RELEASE (com.springsource.sts.grails.feature.group 2.8.0.201110171000-RELEASE) Software currently installed: SpringSource Tool Suite VMware Integration 2.7.2.201109131000-RELEASE (com.springsource.sts.vmware.feature.group 2.7.2.201109131000-RELEASE)

Uninstalled STS 2.7, updated STS 2.8 and installed/updated Grails tooling.

It all works now.

Thanks.
