Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to help, install new software in eclipse
2. Give site address for  Eclipse Git Team Provider	
3. Click next, you would see the problem in 'details'

Please enable the Mylyn or Indigo update site and select "Contact all update sites..." in the Install New Software dialog.

Now installing

with "Contact all update sites..." enables. Getting this error (same build for
eclipse)

That looks like a different error. Please also enable the Indigo release site: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo

I have added that link too, and the problem persists.
