It would be helpful to add an extension point (like CDT) so that PLDT's MPI help pages could be integrated with Photran's editor.

What do you have in mind?  Because I have also been thinking about a way to add support for an alternate version of an API set (like MPI for example) but haven't thought thru how I'd do it.  It now has the capability of overriding the html files with an extension point but not replacing the APIs and the hover help info.
