Build Identifier: Main thread seems to work it's arm off in native code: "main" prio=10 tid=0x0805a000 nid=0x6ea8 runnable [0xf7426000] java.lang.Thread.State: RUNNABLE at org.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.OS._gtk_main_do_event(Native Method) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.OS.gtk_main_do_event(OS.java:8394) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.eventProc(Display.java:1245) I've attached a few stack traces I was able to take. Note that I saw this issue on two different machines, using two different user homes... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Empty Workspace: File > Export > Archive File 2. Browse... 3. Browse for other folders 4. In Places, select the first entry (your user home) 5. OK (updates the content to show your user home) 6. OK again: stuck
Created attachment 205214 [details] output from "eclipse -debug", including stack traces
Created attachment 205215 [details] stuck dialog, showing that the Eclipse UI behind it is no longer repainting either
CQ:WIND00311220 *setting Eclipse version to 3.7.1* Note that I did not see the problem using RH5.3, so this is likely highly gtk-version dependent... Helmut
Do you get this problem if you just go 'File > Open File...'?
(In reply to comment #4) > Do you get this problem if you just go 'File > Open File...'? Thanks for looking into this, Remy! :) I've tried reproducing this with a bunch of other tasks, like - File->Open File - Preferences -> Target Platform -> Add - Import -> Archive File , none of them shows the deadlock in my environment. Double checked my original steps, export archive still does get stuck, 100% of the cases... Helmut
(In reply to comment #5) > - Import -> Archive File Odd, I would have expected this to fail.
Just confirming: You can reproduce this problem running Eclipse 3.7.1 on RH5.6 and 5.7, is that correct ? Does the problem happen with a clean workspace ? Do you have any extra plugins installed on Eclipse ?

Helmut

ping ?
Arun, did you have the change to try to reproduce this bug ?
I can't reproduce this issue on my Fedora 28 box, but RHEL5 isn't supported any longer. Please re-open this ticket if the issue persists.
