I was originally going to open as an "enhancement request" to say something was lost when starting to feature 4.2 builds, and "point back" to 3.8 builds ... namely, that an easy link to "pure" e4 was no longer obvious. I finally found an e4 download page, at http://download.eclipse.org/e4/downloads/ But then found many of the links there do not work. the "release" does, at http://download.eclipse.org/e4/downloads/drops/R-0.111-201109121510/index.html and M1 does, at http://download.eclipse.org/e4/downloads/drops/S-0.12M1-201108051200/index.html But M2 and recent I builds just shows blank web page ... I'm sure due to PHP errors.
> ... I'm sure due to PHP errors. Well, maybe not, exactly ... there does not appear to be anything "meaty" under /home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/e4/downloads/drops/S-0.12M2-201109161615 So, maybe something's not uploading correctly?

We can track fixing the links in bug 359237, but I wanted to remove any confusion over what the e4 downloads contain. When you say "pure e4", I suspect you are thinking of the graduated e4 bundles that are in Eclipse Platform 4.x. If that's what you are looking for then e4 incubator is the wrong place. The e4 downloads are for areas that remain in incubation and are *not* part of Eclipse Platform 4.x. For example, XWT, model tooling, semantic resource extensions, etc.

On that note, someone who wants to download the content from the e4 incubator shouldn't have a difficult time finding the downloads page. 1. Load http://www.eclipse.org/e4/. 2. Click the 'Downloads' link on the left. 3. The end.
> ... When you say "pure e4", I suspect > you are thinking of the graduated e4 bundles that are in Eclipse Platform 4.x. No, I meant the e4 incubator ... some of the "edit model tools" specifically. Once bug 359237 is fixed, I think that will suffice just fine. (I just knew how I used to get there and was surprised there wasn't some "transition" link ... but, to emphasize ... it is fine not to have it on eclipse (main) download pages).
