Description Shirley Boulay CLA 2011-10-10 15:24:45 EDT
We need to start versioning Jetty documentation. We need the ability to easily copy the entire contents and structure of the current Jetty wiki, and then to do one of two things:

1. Paste it into a new wiki, and add/modify content for an upcoming release.
2. Create a new section on the current wiki, with this content in that section.

Of course, we will need to repeat on an ongoing basis.

Currently there seem to be Export and Import functionality, which are poorly documented, so I can't figure out where I'm exporting content to, or really, what the point is. Finally, only Sysops users can Import. Please help.

Wikis don't really do this. Perhaps having the docs on the jetty website and using the wiki for 'errata' is a better option?

If you want to use the wiki you've got a couple of options:

1) Shell script wrapping something like wget(or curl) commands to extract the pages, modify and 're-upload' them.
2) Create the 'new' pages & data then use in-line links to include things that haven't changed

At this time I just don't see us having the cycles to create/maintain this kind of custom 'extension'.
