I've noticed that in our webtools cvs, that 'ahunter' (Anthony Hunter?)
is the "user owner" of our CVSROOT. That's not right, on a number of
levels. While I doubt it (or he) would ever harm anything, I think it
should be fixed. From looking at "tools", it appears 'cvs' should be
both owner and group.

/cvsroot/webtools

Aside from just being incorrect, I'm wondering if such a "random" permissions error is cause for concern? You know, just how it could happen? Is it a sign that something is wrong or compromized? etc.

Fixed. I can come up with a couple of plausible reasons why this may have happened(that fall into the 'goof' bucket). The upside here is that the contents are all correctly owned, so even if Anthony wanted to be evil, he wouldn't have the rights to remove the contents of the directory.
