1) Open the attached H4.egl
2) In the preview mode, open the handler with outside browser, you can see the error message.

The similar issue was found when verifying the defect Bug 358851 - The external type widgets can be neither selected in VE nor displayed in outline view. I uploaded that sample file as well.

MVC is being implemented under enhancement 354139;  please see that enhancement for the details and status.
