It's time to consider migrating the Examples project over to Git.

Activity on the project has been very low. Prior to moving, maybe we should consider:

a) Terminating the project altogether
b) Terminating dormant parts of the project (EBERT)
c) Moving some/all of the project to EclipseLabs

Thoughts?

After a short discussion with EMO(ED), I've decided to push the Examples project forward and migrate it in its current form to Git.

As presented on the mailing list earlier today, I intend to create a separate Git repository for each example. I can create all of the necessary repositories and can test all but the TOAST examples. I'll need somebody to step up and do that testing after the Git repositories are created.

Webmaster, please create an repository space for the Examples project: 

/gitroot/examples assigned to group technology.examples

I'll take care of the actual migration and archiving of CVS.

Can you please also add an "examples" directory with appropriate permissions to the archive server?

i.e. /home/data/httpd/archive.eclipse.org/examples

I have removed Webmaster from the CC list.

I've created three new git repositories:

/gitroot/examples/org.eclipse.examples.imageutils.git
/gitroot/examples/org.eclipse.examples.slideshow.git
/gitroot/examples/org.eclipse.examples.toast.git

I will archive copies of the CVS repositories and mark them as read-only.
